Welcome to Dar es Salaam! Our bustling city is the commercial capital of Tanzania, and we are proud to call it home.

Escape was established in 2004 with the aim of catering to niche market travel and tourism. We immediately acquired the franchise rights for STA Travel (UK) and began to focus on selling affordable air travel to the student, youth and teacher market, outbound hotel accommodation, travel insurance and inbound safari packages. We are also the appointed sole issuer of International Student Identity Cards (ISIC) in Tanzania.

In 2006, we teamed up with World Hotel Link to bring the concept and product to Tanzania, as the Dar es Salaam partner. As a niche market operator, we wanted to bring the wide variety of product Tanzania has to offer onto the world stage, and allow you to book even the most remote tour or smallest hotel in a seamless and hassle free manner. And we think we have succeeded thanks to the strategic partnership with World Hotel Link!

Part of our ingrained philosophy is sustainable tourism, and as a result you will see we give preference to hotels with a good 'caring for the destination' rating. We also ensure that cultural tours we feature give back to the local communities being visited. As a company, Escape supports MEDEWELL, a local NGO that runs a Health Center in Kibaha district (45 minutes from Dar es Salaam), digs wells in the areas around Dar es Salaam which do not have potable water, and funds disadvantaged students to pursue post-secondary diploma courses in Dar es Salaam.
